SIA Top-up Training for Door Supervisor

 

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has undertaken a review of the Top-up Training Course for the Door Supervisors and Security Guards, which will be needed before renewing your security Licence  from October 2021

What is Top-up Training and Why do you need SIA Top-up Training for Door Supervisors Licence ?

From October 2021, it will be mandatory for you to complete the Top-up Training for Door Supervisors to renew your licence.

The Top –up Training is a mandatory 2-day additional training course for renewing your SIA licence. The SIA has developed top-up training course to make sure that current Door Supervisors and Security Guards/Officers Licence holders must have the same basics skills and knowledge as the new entrants with the updated qualifications and skills. 

Do you need SIA Top-up training course for Security Guard Licence?

Yes, if you are holding a security Guard Licence then you will also need to complete the SIA Top-up Training. As per SIA, from 1 October 2021, you must have one of the following qualification or skills to renew you Security Guard Licence : -

  1. One of the new SIA Qualifications set in place in April 2021
  2. Or, Top-up training qualification with a valid First-Aid Certificate

If you don’t have Emergency First-Aid at Work (EFAW) Qualification, then you can complete your EFAW course with your Top-up Training.
