  B1 SELT- Approved English language qualifications For British citizenship, you need to pass a Secure English Language Test (SELT) in at least CEFR level B1 in Speaking and Listening. By having a  recognised B1 English test qualification from an approved test centre, you can prove your knowledge of English. It is mandatory for every applicant applying for ILR or British Citizenship to have certification in B1 level English test with Life in UK certificate. There are two phases in B1 English test and each phase is of up to 5 minutes. Every phase has the discussion on the topic selected by the learners from the given option whereas the second phase tests the candidates on conversation on different subject areas selected by the examiner. The passing percentage of this examination is 75%. If you could be asked 100 questions, then out of these 100 you need to answer 75 questions correct.
